Picture Campaign: Instructions for Health Centers

Thank you for participating in the CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates picture campaign. Posting these pictures to social media will help us let California representatives know that protecting the Affordable Care Act is important to their constituents. Enclosed with these instructions is a template for the campaign to be filled out by staff and patients and uploaded to social media.

Step One: Print materials

When printing the template, select full page. Download the picture template here.

Step Two: Distributing the picture campaign template

When distributing the picture template, please take a few minutes to explain the campaign, noting that we would like each person, with a dark colored marker, to add a short, personal anecdote on why health care/ACA is important to them. Please ask all participants to post their picture prior to the NACHC Policy and Issue Forum being held March 29-April 1. Also, if you would like to your health center/consortia, please provide them with your twitter handle.

Step Three: Find your federal representatives Twitter handles

To find your representative, follow the below instructions:

  1. Visit http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ and type in your zip code.
  2. Click on the representatives’ names one the left side of the map. It will take you to their website. Click on the Twitter icon on their website and it will take you to their Twitter page where you can grab their twitter handle.

Step Four:  Upload to social media

Have someone take your picture holding the sign. Then upload the picture to your personal Twitter and Facebook accounts. Be sure to tag your local health center, consortia, and elected officials (see step 3).
